What are WMA and ID3 tags?
  • A WMA tag contains information about the song like Title, Artist, Album and more. The tag is located at the beginning of the WMA (Windows Media Audio) file. Other applications can use this information -- as well as hardware devices, like portable players -- to display the details about the song regardless of its existing filename.
  • An ID3 tag has the same basic functionality, but the information is stored at the end of an MP3 file.
